SINGER 221 FEATHERWEIGHT MOTOR REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

REPLACING THE MOTOR ON THE 
SINGER 221 FEATHERWEIGHT SEWING MACHINE 

REMOVE THE OLD MOTOR BY REMOVING THE SCREW AND WASHER FROM THE MOTOR MOUNT.

TURN MACHINE OVER AND REMOVE THE BOTTOM COVER THEN REMOVE THE 3 PRONG POWER BLOCK BY REMOVING THE SCREW
 (1). REMOVE THE MOTOR WIRE FROM THE #1 RED POST (LEFT POST)
#2 BLACK POST (CENTER), TAKE THE WIRE CLAMP OFF THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE MACHINE.

MOUNT NEW MOTOR

FEED WIRE THROUGH HOLE NEAR MOTOR MOUNT AREA AND RECONNECT WIRE CLAMP AND ATTACH MOTOR WIRES BACK TO 3 PRONG PLUG THE #1 RED POST (LEFT POST) AND #2 BLACK POST (CENTER). PUT BOTTOM COVER BACK ON.
CONNECT THE MOTOR TO THE MACHINE WITH THE WASHER/SCREW
PUT ON BELT AND ADJUST THE BELT SO NOT TO TIGHT BUT DOES NOT SLIP TIGHTEN THE MOTOR MOUNT SCREW.

RUN THE MACHINE AND CHECK THAT THE BELT IS NOT TO TIGHT
MOTOR SHOULD TURN FAST, IF SLUGGISH LOOSEN SCREW AND
ADJUST MOTOR A LITTLE LOSER AND RE-TIGHTEN MOTOR MOUNT SCREW.
